Successful Applications & Projects

With more than $62million distributed across Western Australia, the following are a few of the projects that have been able to come to fruition from successful grant applications.
Dalyellup Skate Park
Grants Empire secured more than $720,000 from two successful grant applications to Lotterywest and DLGSCI on behalf of the Shire of Capel to enable the delivery of a regional level skate park in the fast growing district of Dalyellup in WA's southwest region.
Cable Beach Coastal Protection
The Shire of Broome were awarded $3.85million from Grants Empire's successful Preparing Australian Communities grant application to ensure the protection of one of Australia's most iconic beaches with global recognition for the Kimberley region.
Waroona Community Precinct
Grants Empire secured $900,000 under the Building Better Regions Fund (Round 5) towards the transformation of 11,500sqm of underutilised land into the Waroona Community Precinct to include playground, skate park, pump track, pavilion, park amenities and much more.
Twin Rivers Visitor Stop
Grants Empire secured more than 92% of this project's costs under the Building Better Regions Fund (Round 4) equating to $2.38million on behalf of the Shire of Upper Gascoyne. Gascoyne Junction now has a visitor stop with RV parking, amenities, war memorial and amphitheatre to host events in the Gascoyne region.
Wooleen Visitors Building
Wooleen Station were awarded $100,000 under the Regional Economic Development Grant program to relocate and refurbish the 1922 Shearer’s Shed Kitchen and transform it into the Wooleen Station Visitors Building to include a merchandise outlet, hospitality service, interpretive space, art gallery and meeting room.
Bilgoman Aquatic Centre
Grants Empire secured $130,000 under the Community Sport & Recreation Facilities Fund towards the upgrade of the changerooms and the office/kiosk at Bilgoman Aquatic Centre in the Shire of Mundaring to provide more family friendly amenities and increase the productivity of the Centre.
Ravensthorpe Cultural Precinct
Grants Empire secured $5,275,800 under the Building Better Regions Fund (Round 4) on behalf of the Shire of Ravensthorpe. The 11,756sqm Precinct includes an ecologically sustainable community and visitors centre, playground, amphitheatre, RV parking and refurbished Dunnart Gallery Studio in WA's Great Southern region.
Merredin Town Centre Revitalisation
Shire of Merredin were awarded $2,139,309 under the Building Better Regions Fund (Round 5) to revitalise the town centre, creating a pedestrian friendly space and an attractive focal point for the Wheatbelt region.
Lake Leschenaultia Visitor Improvement Project
Grants Empire secured $218,250 under the Building Better Regions Fund (Round 5) towards the installation of an environmental and Indigenous interpretation shelter, covered outdoor dining space, automated front gates and nature playground within Lake Leschenaultia Reserve in the Perth Hills region.
Beadon Creek Fish Cleaning Station
Grants Empire secured $15,000 under the Recreational Boating & Facilities Scheme on behalf of the Shire of Ashburton to enable the purchase and installation of a secondary fish compost facility at Beadon Creek, Onslow in Western Australia’s Pilbara region
Hopetoun Coastal Hazard Risk Management & Adaptation Plan
Shire of Ravensthorpe were awarded $100,000 under the Coastal Management Plan Assistance Program to develop a Coastal Hazard Risk Management and Adaptation Plan (CHRMAP) to understand ‘coastal hazards’ and ‘risks’ that may impact the coastline in the future and what the options are for managing those.
Early Learning Centre Funding
Grants Empire secured $200,000 under the Community Child Care Sustainability Fund to enable the Little Barrens Early Learning Centre and The Cub House in the Shire of Ravensthorpe to reduce barriers for participation in child care where children have the opportunity to explore, learn and develop new physical, mental, social and emotional skills.
Cue Community & Visitor Centre
Grants Empire secured a collective $805,000 under three successful applications including to Lotterywest, Regional Grants Scheme and National Stronger Regions Fund (Round 3) for this award winning Project. It involved redeveloping the circa 1825 Post Office Buildings into a multipurpose centre incorporating the Cue CRC, Visitors Centre, Library, interpretation/ exhibition space, multipurpose space and Op Shop.
Pingelly Recreation & Cultural Centre
Shire of Pingelly were awarded a collective $5,238,595 under the National Stronger Regions Fund (Round 2), Community Sport & Recreation Facilities Fund and Lotterywest to construct a unique 5,114sqm combined indoor sport, recreation, cultural and community facility with a high energy efficiency rating due to its timber construction. This Centre is now a multi-award winning facility.
East Pilbara Aviation Strategy
Grants Empire secured $40,000 under the Regional Airports Development Scheme towards the development of an overarching Aviation Strategy to include Newman Airport, Marble Bar Airstrip and Nullagine Airstrip in the Shire of East Pilbara. The Strategy will improve regional air services by providing a clear future direction for aviation in the East Pilbara.
Vincent Street Upgrade
Grants Empire secured $1,534,122 under the Building Better Regions Fund (Round 4) for this Project which involved activating the Shire of Beverley’s main thoroughfare in the Wheatbelt region. It redeveloped Vincent Street into an active, walkable streetscape with wide pathways, seating, underground power, signage and accessible ramps .
Mundaring Hardcourts
Shire of Mundaring were awarded $245,791 under the Community Sporting Infrastructure program to redevelop the Perth Hills' largest multipurpose court cluster in accordance with Australian sporting code standards (netball, basketball, hockey), resurface, improve fencing and install LED floodlighting.
Lloyds Plaza Redevelopment
Grants Empire secured $1million under two grant programs towards the redevelopment of Lloyd's Plaza in Meekatharra. The multipurpose plaza now has an art gallery and exhibition space, retail areas, library, conference/training room, kitchen, courtyard and community resource centre.
Landor Strategic Connector
Grants Empire secured $4,049,253 under the Building Better Regions Fund (Round 4) for this Project which involved upgrading floodways, widening the regional road and sealing more than 27km of Landor Road in WA's Mid West region.
Healthcare Management
View Health - chemo@home were awarded $145,107 under the Boosting Female Founders program for the development and implementation of technical platform improvements that met the surging demand for specialised home healthcare service delivery.
Astro Rocks Fest
Grants Empire has secured more than $50,000 over six years under event grant programs towards the hosting of Mt Magnet's successful Astro Rocks Fest including Tourism WA's Regional Events Scheme, Horizon Power's community program and Lotterywest.
NEWROC Telecommunications
Grants Empire secured $701,875 under the Building Better Regions Fund (Round 1) for this Project which involved installing new telecommunication infrastructure across the north eastern Wheatbelt region that connected businesses and the wider community to the digital network.
Bencubbin Multipurpose Complex
The Shire of Mt Marshall were awarded $990,000 under the National Stronger Regions Fund (Round 1) for the construction of a multifunctional sporting and community space in the Wheatbelt region that will support regional sporting events, workshops, functions and commercial activities.
Guilderton Boat Ramp Upgrade
Grants Empire secured $204,028 under the Recreational Boating & Facilities Scheme to upgrade facilities on the Shire of Gingin's coast including installation of new boat ramp finger jetty and upgraded trailer parking at the popular Guilderton Beach.
